Pickles blends American grit with English intelligence. He has the drive in the field to flush and retrieve upland birds, the patience to sit in the blind while we are waterfowl hunting and the off switch to sleep in his bed in the the house when we are not in the field. His gun dog career has ranged from puddle ducks in small creeks and ponds to divers and sea ducks on big water. He has flushed and retrieved every upland bird on the East Coast. He has the intelligence and demeanor to adapt to any hunting situation and the determination to persevere through any environment. Maple (Adirondac Sugar Shack Princess) is a sweetheart of a dog. She is the typical Golden Retriever; she loves every person and other dog she has ever met. She is calm in the house, but she loves to work in the field. She is a fantastic marker and has the drive and grit to get through tough blinds and heavy cover. Maple has passed every test she has entered. She has 2 NAHRA Hunter passes, 1 AKC Senior upland pass, 1 NAHRA Working upland pass.

She spends her hunting seasons flushing pheasants, woodcock and grouse and retrieving ducks and geese in every scenario. From wood ducks in small creeks, geese in farm ponds and fields and divers on big water, Maple has done it all.
